Recently, I received an email from "Access Your PC from Anywhere Free for 30 Days". I find it interesting because all XP and Vista computers have this capability built in, and have had it since the second service pack was released for XP - quite some time ago. It's really FREE already, and you can use it for as long as you want - no charge. No kidding!
The ad goes on...
"Here’s the problem: Your important files are on your office computer but you need to work while you're at home or traveling. Here’s the solution: Use GoToMyPC to remotely access your office computer from any computer with an Internet connection – anywhere in the world." The problem is, you'll be paying a fee!
Here’s how it really should work: After having our technicians at iNamics work with you to enable this capability (already built into your PC), all you'll have to do is simply log on using Remote Desktop and your office desktop will instantly appear on your computer screen. It's so easy! You'll have full access to all of your files, programs, email and network. (Okay, I admit, I stole pieces of this verbage from the ad.)
By reading my article, "The Fourth Shift", you can learn how Microsoft has licensed this technology from the same company that makes GoToMyPC.
Don’t miss out on the opportunity to use Remote Desktop. Call our Help-Desk now and don't pay any monthly fee, ever!
